15th Sansad Ratna Awards: The Vision and Journey of 16 Years - Prime Point Srinivasan

15th edition of sansad ratna awards 2025 - speeches by prime point srinivasan and priyadharshni rahul

The 15th Sansad Ratna Awards ceremony was a significant milestone for the Prime Point Foundation. Beyond the presentation of awards, the event served as a reflection on a 16-year journey dedicated to strengthening Indian democracy through positive reinforcement. Prime Point Srinivasan, the Founder of the awards, and Priyadharshni Rahul, Chairman of the Awards Committee, shared the story behind this unique citizens' initiative.

Prime Point Srinivasan on the Genesis of the Awards

As the Founder and Chairman Emeritus, Prime Point Srinivasan shared the historical context of how these awards began. He recalled the pivotal moment in 2009 when the 11th President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, suggested that top-performing Parliamentarians should be identified and honoured.

He explained that the Foundation's mission has always been "Positive Journalism"—focusing on what is working well in our democracy. He noted that while the awards have grown in prestige over 15 years, the core principle remains the same: using objective data to celebrate those who take their parliamentary duties seriously. He expressed deep gratitude to the Jury Committee and the awardees for validating Dr Kalam’s vision through their consistent performance.

Priyadharshni Rahul on the Growth and Future of the Awards

Priyadharshni Rahul, Chairman of the Sansad Ratna Awards Committee and Editor of PreSense, spoke about the journey of bringing the 15th edition to New Delhi. She highlighted that these awards are entirely a citizens' initiative, run without any government or corporate funding, which ensures their complete independence and credibility.

She remarked on the increasing diversity of the awardees, noting that more young MPs and women are now being recognised for their active participation in the House. She also introduced the new digital books launched during the event, emphasizing the importance of documenting these parliamentary "success stories" for future generations. Her address reflected the Foundation's commitment to continuing this legacy with the same transparency and passion.
